The Perks of Hosting an Outdoor Wedding
If you’re planning a wedding in the coming winter, take note.
While Hindu weddings usually occur in the evening, Dhruv and Manya’s was a morning wedding at Delhi’s Taj Mahal Mansingh. Dhruv and Manya have known each other for over 10 years, from their high school days in Canada. For the last two years, they had been planning the perfect wedding for which their friends and family all flew down to India.
A dreamy affair from start to finish, it was painted in pastels and soft hues of red. Manya’s flowing lehenga, the centerpiece of the event, was an Anita Dongre creation in ruby red. The sun soaked wedding spelled photogenic from all angles and the warmth really shone through in the photographs. The pre-wedding events consisted of yellows, oranges and rose pinks—all perfectly complemented by the radiant sun. The wedding moved on to a chiefly red and purple palette coupled with the muted tones of the venue, giving it an understated regal aura. As the bride herself said, their vision was to keep the event simple yet elegant, and it really was.
Our take? Outdoor, day weddings are great during winter months. You get naturally stunning lighting for the best wedding photos, the warmth is actually welcome and it cuts the worry about wearing extra layers. So go ahead and give this a go!
