5 Reasons to have a Pre Wedding Shoot
If you're soon to be married couple, tell me why it's worth it to have a pre-wedding photo session?
Pre-wedding photography has been growing in popularity in India. However, question that wedding photographer often hear from newly engaged couple is: "Do we really need to have a pre-wedding shoot? After all we'll be getting tons of wedding pictures."
Pre-wedding photo sessions are entirely different experience than wedding photo shoots. They are meant to be a relaxed and casual experience with which the newly engaged couple can have fun and be themselves. It is the very beginning of your wedding story. I like to think of it as a fun necessity. Here's why:
1. Get yourself some great looking shots!
The pictures from you pre-wedding shoot are many times the first real photographs you'll have of you and your sweetheart! You get an opportunity to make some truly unique pictures. This is your time to be yourselves in front of the camera with absolutely no pressure. Locations can be picked from anywhere like where you met, any place that puts you to ease or bring some memories back. Or even some beautiful looking locations like some historical monuments, lakes, beaches etc. giving a destination wedding feel! You can be more creative and have a nice theme planned for yourself and use some fun props.
2. Trial run for your photographer
The decision to hire the photographer for the big day becomes much easier for you after trying the photographer for the pre-wedding shoot. Getting to know your photographer, seeing the pictures of yourselves ahead of time will help build confidence in yourselves and your photographer, creating a shared level of trust.
3. Letting your photographer get to know you.
Your photographer getting to know you is as important as you getting to know the photographer. Pre-wedding session gives the photographer an opportunity to know you and for you to become comfortable in front of their camera. They'll learn what works best for you, what positions you look best in, how best to bring those special smiles and make you look like rockstars!
4. Practice for the big day
Whether you are camera shy or you love being in front of the camera, pre-wedding shoot is great to build some extra comfort in front of the camera. Another thing you might want to think of doing is having your hair and makeup test done on the same day as your pre-wedding session. This way you get to see how your hair and makeup look in pictures. Once you see your pre-wedding pictures and are happy about them you will have more confidence in yourselves and will look forward to have your pictures taken on the wedding day.
5. Your pictures have practical uses!
You can use the pictures from your pre-wedding shoot in many crafty ways. Couples are using them on save the dates, invitations, centerpieces, guest books, as well as making them into slide shows for the wedding. Facebook profile pictures goes without saying!
That's why if you getting married soon I encourage you to get creative, go out with your photographer, have some fun and create some memories!
